The Cuckoo's Calling, by Robert Galbraith

This came as recommendation from many people. But at the end I'm not impressed. Maybe I hit a reading slump, but this one dragged badly.

It has almost everything a good detective story should have: the PI with a trouble, a glamorous victim and London's nitty gritty reality. All the ingredients are there. Yet I struggled to care.

Robin was the only character I could relate to. Strike himself seemed to be a combination of detective story clichés rather than a real person. The investigation continues with more interviews. Guess it does reflect the true nature of PI job. But i was hoping for something to grab my attention. It just never did.

So I guess I'm not becoming a JK Rowling fan after all.Robert Galbraith is a pseudonym for J.K. Rowling, revealed in 2013. Harry Potter was fine, at least first book, then it became dull. This was just dull from beginning.

My rating: ★★☆☆☆[?]
