After Chamber of Secrets I was really looking forward to falling down the rabbit hole of the whole series. But somehow I had to force myself to get through the book. Somewhere around the middle of it, I found myself losing interest.
It started slowly, feeling like a much bigger book (couldn't judge as I read it on Kindle), but the pacing was somehow off. There were stretches that felt like padding rather than story. Maybe it was the absence of the clear mystery, omnipresent through the first two books, that made the difference. The time-turner concept is clever, the reveal about Sirius Black works well enough, and the Dementors were great concept. But somehow it felt not keeping up with the first two books.
